Changing of the Guard

The Pabian Residence hasn’t changed hands since it was built in 1961. The house was acquired in 2022 with the original details largely intact, but the materials and systems in the house had been neglected for years. The new owner came in with a vision for restoring the home to its former glory.

The Restoration

With the help of architect and restoration expert Cory Buckner, all planned alterations were carefully decided upon to keep the original footprint of the home, while restoring the materials and fitting it with modern systems, appliances and smart features.

With a leaking roof, a 30 year old water heater, asbestos in areas, rotting linoleum and retrofitted appliances from the 1980s, there were many basic elements that needed thoughtful attention to prevent the home from deteriorating any further.


The restoration was a slow process, taking almost a year to complete. With a mix of new and vintage mid-century pieces and modern, yet classic furnishings, the home exudes a sense of calm and serenity making it the perfect canvas for living, working and entertaining.
